I was a junior at Saint Michael’s Academy on West 33rd Street in the early 1980s when I first met Eileen McCool. She hired me to be her part-time helper at the insurance firm of Craig M Ferguson on E. 21st St. Aside from teaching me how to type and file, Eileen taught me my most valuable life lessons - Integrity, compassion & kindness. We worked together with so many wonderful people, such as Pat Miller, Barbara, Vicky, and Rose & the whole Ferguson family. When the company moved to Stamford Connecticut I commuted with Eileen that summer. We had such fun times together riding Metro North. After retiring from my teaching job after 35 years, I finally spoke to Eileen and promised I would go see her in Rockaway. Unfortunately, I never made it out there. I thank you Eileen for teaching me so much and for being such a wonderful role model for me when I really needed one. Rest in peace & I look forward to seeing you again.
