Dear Nelson Family,
I was shocked and saddened to hear about Walter's passing. I had the privilege of knowing Walter only for a short time, but it didn't take much know the kind of person he is. I admire that he spent his life in the service of others and was anxious to get back to doing what he loved. I wish every patient of mine was as dedicated and hard-working. You are in my, and the entire staff at One on One PT's thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Walters passing. I've known Walter since 1987 when I first went to the EMS Academy. We taught classes together, worked together, raised hell and created havoc together and he helped make work fun. In EMS, coworkers form a special bond. Time may pass and assignments may change but you are always family. And as family, we heard how your kids were doing growing up and how things were at home and what you got done on your "honey do" list over the weekend. We not only shared work experiences, we shared life. My heart goes out to your family Walter and the hundreds of people whose lives you touched. It is impossible for me to come back to NY but it doesn't mean I wont be thinking of you. You will always be my friend and will always be in my heart!

Beverly and I would like to extend our sympathy to the Nelson Family and the entire FDNY EMS Family for the Loss of Walter. Walter was a gentleman and professional in every sense. It was a pleasure to have known him and also work with him thru our association with BRAVO VAC. Being a quiet man, he also had many hidden talents that he shared with us both as a volunteer and also in the service to the City of New York. He was always easy to talk to and always had a Hello in meeting. We will always remember Walter as part of our extended family. Rest In Peace, Amen...
