Good Bye Uncle Ewart
Our quiet warrior.
Always watching, always caring, always there.
The youngest of the seven Saunders children
Each one strong in their own right
He made his own way
Alongside his beloved wife Carmen
He championed a family in a foriegn land
and made that land his own
We, none of us in our generation of Saunders
were raised by our parents alone
We were all raised by the Saunders Village
and took from Lee, B, Mae, Rhona, Lloyd, Flo and Ewart alike
But it was Uncle Ewart that always had that "quite wisdom"
He could check you in six words or less
and with such a gentle sternness that you could never escape
He's gone Home now to join his brother and four of his sisters
leaving only our dear Flo from the original seven
I am Blessed to have been born into this family
I am Blessed to have had the good counsel of Uncle Ewart
And the example of a life well lived
God Bless you Uncle Ewart, you remain in our hearts for ever and all ways
