I was a student of Professor Grennan's in 1998. I am so very sorry to hear that he passed away.
I was actually going to call him up this summer to get insight on a matter concerning the system.
I know many students will miss him. He taught me a course called "critical issues" in the summer of '98.
He was funny, smart, cared about his students, taught us a lot about the court system, human behavior. He actually brought in a guest speaker who used to be the Warden many years ago at Rikers. I believe his name was Oslen.
We all loved his real life stories concerning his experiences as a police officer. I and I'm sure I can speak for everyone in that summer course -learned quite a bit and never had a class that was boring. We all looked forward to each class. He was one of my favorite professors in College.
My condolences to his family and his colleagues.
Warmest Regards and Respect,
Julie

And then there was Hunter Mountain and the skiing.........lol.
Rest in Peace, my friend.

It was very sad for me to hear the news that Dr. Grennan had passed. He was my favorite professor at C.W. Post and one of the funniest persons I have met. There was not one class that was dull, boring, or any of the sort. He made us laugh and most importantly demonstrated that college was more than textbook studying. He gave us what life had taught him and that was more than enough for us who studied criminal justice. You will be missed.

I can still hear Sean's happy guffaws when we were having a "boss time", as we used to say in those innocent, beery days of our youth. I'm happy that I was able to touch base with him later in life, when he was doing some very interesting things, and getting in touch with his inner Italian. I regret that I didn't find the time to communicate more with him. Ciao, good buddy!
