Obituary of Terence W. McPhillips Jr.

Terence W. McPhillips, Jr died on Friday, October 24, 2014 in Virginia Beach, Va. a resident since June of 2012. He was 81 years old. Terry was born on July 26, 1933. He was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. In high school he played football and baseball for Brooklyn Prep. Terry served in the United States Navy and retired from the NYPD after 28 years. He was a member of St. Bernard's Parrish and the American Legion. Terry is survived by his children, Mary Persicano and husband Tommy, Timothy McPhillips and wife Renee, Terence McPhillips and wife Maureen, and Anne Sullivan and husband Dan and 9 grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Mary Clarke. Terry is preceded in death by his wife Therese and his parents Mary and Terence. A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday November 14, 2014 at 4pm at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Virginia Beach, VA. There will also be a Memorial Service for him Saturday November 29, 2014 from 9am-11am at Marine Park Funeral Home in Brooklyn, NY. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
