Obituary of James J. Lawlor
James (Jimmy) Lawlor passed away on November 20, 2014 in Brooklyn, New York at the age of 81. He
was released into God's embrace surrounded by his loving family, his son James, his daughter
Katherine, and his son-in-law Henry.
James was born on March 26, 1933 in Brooklyn, New York, to James Lawlor and Margaret
McDermott Lawlor. He was raised in Red Hook, Brooklyn, where he attended the Star of the Sea
School on Court Street in Red Hook, Brooklyn.
James served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He worked for the Department of Environmental Protection Agency as an inspector. James was an active member in the American Legion, Post 1011. He was a devoted contributor to Father Flanagan’s Boys Town.
He is survived by his children, a son James Lawlor, a daughter Katherine (Suzy) Lawlor Ross, a son-in-law Henry (Harry), and three grandchildren, Suzanne, Kellie, and Daniel.
