Just found this site. Man I miss you so much Vinny. You were the kind of friend that only comes along once in a lifetime. I can still hear your voice on the phone. (We Talked everyday and Vinny pulled me through some dark moments in my life) I truly loved the man. He was caring, creative, super intelligent and funny as all hell. Your memory will remain with me until the day I draw my final breath. Thanks for always being there for me and I do expect to see you again someday. Not sure where it is a toss of the coin for both of us. Love you with all my heart. I pray that peace has embraced you for all time to come. Your Buddy Tony B.

I met Vinny a few years ago in Mill Basin. He was a one of a kind. My condolences to his family whom he loved so much.
I have since moved to Albany, N.Y. and just talked to him before he went in for surgery. I am so sorry for your loss. Rest in peace Vinny.

I only knew Vinny a short time. But in that very short time it was impossible to miss how much of a love he was. Endlessly enthusiastic, Vinnie could talk at length and with conviction about all sorts of subjects. I always enjoyed our conversations, and having him in my corner, however briefly. Condolences to the Cordasco family. Vinnie will certainly be missed.

I met Vinny through his cousin Mark Rivera. We all grew up in Boro Park. I lived down
the block ,was into the music scene and was a big fan of the band "Matrix square".
Vinny was very unique. Smart, funny, sometimes hysterically so. I remeber visiting
him at his venue "The Scrap Bar" and would see him at the beach club my parents
were members of, also.He was "Good People". My heartfelt condolences to his
family. Karl Lafong , Big L, little a.

I first met Vinny in 1965-1966 when my brother was forming a band with him and his cousin Mark. I came in as the 4th member and second guitarist. We flipped for it and Vinny got lead. We spent countless hours transforming his basement into our black light sanctum and rehearsal studio. We'd practice there for hours on end, sometimes with the metal basement doors open onto 8th avenue, where some of the locals loved our music and some were horrified by it. We played unofficially in the beginning as Population IV and then "famously" as Maitrex Square, a name Vinny pulled out of a Math book. On most Saturdays, we'd all go to either Sam Ash on Kings Highway or Manny's in Manhattan to drool over the equipment and dream.
We'd always stop by Prouse's Shoe store on the way from or to the train in Brooklyn to look in the window or buy "Jeff Beck" shoes. In Manhattan, Orange Julius was a regular stop, with Vinny once suggesting we beg for money to buy a drink. I remember Vinny's Telecaster guitar and Bruce amp set-up. I later hooked up with Vinny in the 90's when he was part owner of the Scrap Bar in the Village to try to establish a connection with my radio station. He looked good and was enjoying great success at the time. Though I didn't stay in touch with him, I often thought about him and always asked my brother for him. The years we played together in the band ( 1966-1970 ) are among the favorite times of my life. May Vinny rest in Peace and play forever in Heaven's Band. My condolences go out to his family and friends.

Was happy to play music and spend time with Vinny over the years. Met him when I was about 14 years old. He was always up to some creative activity and always marched to the beat of a different drummer.
He and I roomed together for a short period of time in Bay Ridge and enjoyed having a meal at Arnold's Turtle in the Village.
I'm happy to say I spoke with him about a month before his passing, so I was aware of the
medical procedure he was about to undertake. That was the last time I would ever speak with him.
I'm sorry to say I called after that to check up on how he was doing but never got through to him.
Please accept my condolences. Fletcher Trunklin has left the building.
