Obituary of Pierce P. Butler

BUTLER - Pierce P. passed away on February 25th, 2016. He was born on November 25, 1932 to James and Katherine (nee Hickey) Butler. Pierce is survived by this loving wife Grace (nee Danahy) Butler. He was the cherished father of Dolores (Carl) Russo, James (Janice) Butler, Mary (Thomas) Lowe, and Pierce (Kim) Butler. Pierce was the beloved brother of the late Edward Butler, the late Maureen Fitzgerald and survived by Margaret Watt, Katherine Egert, Grace James, Elizabeth Harrington, Patricia Cole, Joan Butler, and the late Helen and Theresa Butler. He is the cherished grandfather of Carl Russo Jr., Thomas Lowe Jr., and Nicole Lowe. Pierce was a devoted veteran - serving time during the Korean War for the United States Air Force. Mr. Butler finished his career as a Captain of the New York City Police Department. The visitation for Pierce will be on Sunday February 28, 2016 from 2:00 - 5:00 PM and from 7:00 - 9:00 PM at Marine Park Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be held on Monday February 29, 2016 at St. Columba Roman Catholic Church at 10:00 AM. The committal will be held at Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton Long Island, New York following the Funeral Mass. *In lieu of flowers please send donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
