Obituary of Jean A. Henry
Jean A. Henry, our beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on Friday, September 30th, 2016. She is now safely home in Heaven and reunited with her dear husband.
Jean was born in Bermuda on August 9, 1925 to parents Myra and John Outerbridge. When she met William J. Henry, it was love at first sight. After a whirlwind romance; they were happily married and started their family. God blessed their marriage with three sons and three daughters. Jean was very proud of her Bermuda heritage and enjoyed passing along the love of cultural traditions to her children.
Sadly, husband Bill died in the year of their 13th wedding anniversary. Losing the love of her life was devastating but Jean carried on and provided for the family. She was first employed in Bermuda with the Bank of Butterfield where her administrative and bookkeeping skills were beyond comparison. She was later recruited by IUOE (International Union of Operating Engineers) in New York. When the Firehouse Restaurant of Boca Raton opened, Jean was in charge of the accounting books until her retirement.
Over the years her family grew in size and love. She has eleven cherished grandchildren and four precious great-grandchildren. Jean leaves a legacy of a life well lived. Founded in love, paved with determination, unfailing faith in God and respect for all mankind.
She will be deeply missed by her children: Sharon (Rich) Balbone; Bill Henry; Joe (Nancy) Henry; Mary Henry; Tricia (Jimmy) Sheehan; and John Kevin (Debbie) Henry.
Jean was so proud of her grandchildren: Lisa Balbone-Grupenhoff, Kerri Balbone, Jen Lopes, Michael Balbone, Ryan Sheehan, Matthew Henry, Alair Sheehan, Taylor Henry, Debbie Henry, Dan Henry, and Maggie Sheehan as well as great-grandchildren: Andrew Grupenhoff, Nick Lopes, Allison Grupenhoff and Mia Lopes.
