Obituary of James Johnson

James F. Johnson passed away on February 2, 2017 at 79 years old. Born in Brooklyn, James was the son of James and Marion (nee Kilfoyle) Johnson.
He was the beloved husband of JoAnn (nee Romano) Johnson. James was the loving father of the late Jimmy Johnson, Bridget (Christopher) Johnson Parsons, Laura (Louis) Martinez, Peter (Kendra) Rhall, and Joseph (Jeanine) Rhall. He is the dear brother of Marion Johnson, the late William Johnson, the late Elizabeth Johnson, and the late Rosemary Johnson. James is the cherished grandfather of Danielle Martinez, Lawrence Martinez, Jessica Vanutrecht, Anthony Vanutrecht, Jestine Rhall, and Sophie Rhall. He was the caring uncle of John Martinez. James will be greatly missed his many nieces, nephews, friends, and his cat Samantha.
After serving his country in the United States Marine Corps, James continued his service to the residence of New York City serving in the FDNY. James rose to the rank of Lieutenant, serving at Ladder 157, where he retired after a career that lasted over two decades.

The visitation for James will be held at Marine Park Funeral Home on Wednesday February 8, 2017 from 2:00 - 5:00 PM and 7:00 - 9:00 PM. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mark Roman Catholic Church on FRIDAY February 10, 2017 at 10:30 AM - the family will be meeting at the funeral home by 9:30 AM. The Committal Service will take place at Calverton National Cemetery immediately following the Funeral Mass.
