Obituary of John S. Davis
John S. Davis, age 86, of Brooklyn passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018. Mr. Davis was born January 23, 1931 in Brooklyn, NY. He is the son of the late Thomas and the late Ethel (Metzger) Davis. Beloved brother of the late Charles Thomas Davis. Valiantly served our country in the 7th Infantry Division during the Korean War. Over the course of his lifetime he had an illustrious and diverse career which included 30 years in a supervisory role at the NY Telephone Company and a consultancy with Miracle Ear. John was an avid golfer, boater and member of the Kiwanis Club, Lions Club, Fleet Supervisors and served as Commodore of both the Ben Ma Chree Boat Club and the Excelsior Yacht Club. Devoted husband of 46 years to Patricia (Keenan) Davis. Loving father of Geraldine Scuderi, John S. Davis Jr., Kevin Green, Marie Lehner, Susan Davis Grippo and Thomas P. Davis. Cherished grandfather of Sean, Ali, Scott, John S. III, Jaclyn, Kevin Joseph, Danny, Kristen Marie, Stephanie Marie, Robert, Brittany, Peter, John, Ava Grace and soon to be Baby Thomas. Dear great grandfather of John S. IV, Charlotte Rose and Ella Paige.
Reposing Tuesday, January 16 from 2 to 5 PM and 7 to 9 PM at Marine Park Funeral Home, 3024 Quentin Road, Brooklyn, NY.
Mass of Christian burial will be held 9:45 AM on Wednesday, January 17 at Good Shepherd R.C. Church, 1950 Batchelder Street, Brooklyn, NY.
Burial to immediately follow at Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn.
