It’s still surreal, TAKACS.
The linden trees are blossoming and I’m reminded of 4 years ago in Marine Park when we all sent you off to the next world. Hope it’s beautiful and peaceful there.
Love Tim and GIORDANO

Jim's love of Mom, Andrea, cooking and music was well known to all. He loved the Faces, The Beatles and John Lennon. "How Do You Sleep" was a favorite track as was all Who songs. I miss him dearly.

I was only physically around Jim for about 3 weeks in my life, but he was someone I thought of often and I always felt like he was with me. In the world we live in, finding people who you feel are constantly on your side -- no matter what -- are getting harder to find. Jim was all that. I would go for months without having a correspondence with him, but then when I'd re-engage with him, it was like we were picking up right where we left off from our last conversation.
Jim was one of the most hospitable and fun people I've ever been around. The first time I came out to New York, I had some fear because I'd never been there before. Jim helped kill all that in short order by walking around with me, showing me the subway and going with me to the places I wanted to get to. I loved my trips there to see him and some of my most cherished memories are of visiting him.
I think it was the third time that I went to visit him, a friend of mine was supposed to go with me to two Twins vs. Red Sox baseball games in New York. Jim, of course, was a Yankees fan through and through, but had never been to Fenway. I asked him if he would go with me and it took him less than 5 minutes to say he would. He found a bus that would take us round trip from Chinatown to downtown Boston for something ridiculous like $20 or $30. Then when we got out of the bus, we had to figure out where the hotel was and I don't remember having a map when we started. So we walked the whole way, made a couple wrong turns, but it was fun the entire time.
And that last statement seemed to be true every time I was around Jim or in correspondence with him. He was always pleasant and funny and interested in what was going on with me, no matter how much time had passed.
Jim and I bonded over the Beatles and music. I think he was the first person I knew who burned some CDs for me. I have a great memory of one of my visits where I told him I wanted to see his records because they were in a different room. So we went in there and we were going through records and then Jim took out this box of photos he had taken from shows over the years he had attended. Among his many talents was photography. There were some shots in there that would have fit in with a story in Rolling Stone magazine.
I think like most of his friends and family, I just couldn't believe it when I heard that he had passed away over the weekend. Jim was one of those people who I thought would live to be 100. I had been banging around going out and seeing him again in the next few years and I had tried to convince him to come visit me and we'd go to Minneapolis and I'd show him First Avenue. It would have been fitting because he showed me, among many other things, CBGB at about 1 in the morning on one of my visits.
He's gone, but his wonderful spirit remains with me. He's been a good friend with me for about 20 years in that way. I'll continue to carry him with me, but wish that I could have made more memories with him.

I’m sorry for your loss of your loved one. Losing someone we love is heartbreaking. Please know that others care and that God(Psalm 83:18) is close to the broken-hearted, Psalm 34:18. We look forward to the day when sickness pain and death will be a thing of past, Revelation 21:4
