Kathy was like a sister to me when we were kids. A sister I never had. We were, still are, first cousins. We had so much FUN as kids, in Brooklyn. With our big and raucous family. Have so many happy and fond memories. Getting yummy ice cream from the Good Humor truck. Ringing neighbors’ door bells and running away- harmless but crazy fun mischief. We lost touch. I have searched for her in recent years, to no avail. Tried to reach her daughter, but no luck. Sad. Just heard today that she died on July 11, 2018. Ouch. But I take solace in reading her obituaries, seeing she has 5 grandchildren, and was and still is much Be-Loved. And take much comfort in memories of our childhood love, close bond, and escapades. And most of all, I know she is at rest and Peace with the Eternal and All Loving God, and that she no longer “sees in the mirror dimly, but now sees fully, face to face” with our Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer Lord, and is now “known fully as she also is fully known”-so much bigger than merely “may she Rest In Peace”, for I know she most certainly does. And she knows I loved her, and still love her.

Kathy seemed to be always part of my life. When she was looking for Danny, she rang my bell first. She would always stop to talk when my family was sitting out on the stoop. I remember her putting TWO birthday parties on at the same time because her two children were born just two days apart, yet she always remembered that my birthday was the day before Danny's. I think she might've been the last of the original group left on the block, maybe even the whole neighborhood. I just want to make sure that Dan and Krissy know that I'm thinking if them right now. I'm glad that they've escaped Brooklyn to not only survive, but thrive.
