Marcia Neiman

Obituary of Marcia Neiman

Marcia Neiman died peacefully at home on Friday August 17, 2018. Her passing leaves a bittersweet relief knowing that her physical body is at rest, dying just four months shy of her 100th Birthday.

As the glow of her spirit dwindled in the latter part of her life, we choose to remember the vibrancy of her sense of humor, her playful puns and wordplay, and her love of poetry and music. Well after she was physically declining, she was still playing Scrabble and solving the daily Jumble with relative ease though the lady we once knew was no longer there. Her longevity was a reflection of her perseverance but she certainly would not have lived into her 100th year without the dedicated, genuine loving hands of strangers who became family, Terry Werther, Vernalyn Honeyghan and Verena Ford, who faithfully cared for her till the literal end.

Marcia is survived by her loving daughter Amy Neiman of Berkeley CA, daughter-in-law Helen Klein of Brooklyn, grandchildren Tracy and Jeremy Neiman, sister Rhoda Wooten and brother Burton Schlosberg. Marcia was pre-deceased in life by her husband Sol and her son Mitchell Neiman.

A Service of Life and Remembrance will take place at her graveside, Monday August 20th at 11:30AM.  For those attending PLEASE meet at the office of Wellwood Cemetery by 11:15AM. The procession will proceed as one to the family plot. For directions please see the Service Tab or Phone (631) 249-2300. Arrangements entrusted to the care of MARINE PARK FUNERAL HOME.
