Our niece, Lourdes Rivera, wrote the most beautiful words that I would describe my husband — she put my loss for words in her own and I can’t thank her enough for feeling and describing him just as I would.
Tony was and will continue to be a pillar in the Hernandez family, one who loved his family DEARLY, loved all his friends, was a great poet, loved to listen to and dance salsa, served our country with the US Navy, and served our City and retired from the NYPD. You are now at peace with your Father in Heaven with no more pain or sickness. You will truly be Missed and Forever Loved! We all love you!
I thank God from the very first day I met you for the greatest gift He gave me — You. You allowed me to see your genuine and sincere self and I fell in love with you instantly.
