Obituary of Belkis De La Cruz
Belkis Noemi De La Cruz, age 55, went to be with the Lord on December 09, 2019. Belkis was born on January 14, 1964 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic to parents Milagros Minerva Reyes & Virgilio De La Cruz.
Belkis lived with her family in Brooklyn, New York, she was married to the love of her life for 39 years, Luis Rafael Cruz. Together they raised two amazing children, Arlenis Cruz and Luis Miguel Cruz.
Belkis was known to be an independent woman. She was an entrepreneur who was strong minded, courageous and passionate. Along with her sister Marcia, they conveyed a vision and owned many beauty salons, which was not half the qualities she carried, Belkis was intelligent, Strong, firm, loving individual. She even had qualities of a nurse as she cared for her sick father Virgilio for over 5 years with compassion, understanding and with all her love. Belkis was selfless, humble, attentive, and love to help and comfort others. She was a great companion to all and loved to spend her time surrounded by family. Belkis was overall a Divine Angel, with a smile that would light up your day.
Belkis is survived by her daughter, Arlenis Cruz and husband Andy Sanchez-Sarit; son, Luis Miguel Cruz and wife Stephanie Charlene Arrindell; 3 grandchildren, Amaya Charlene, Luis Miguel Jr. and Austin Carter; 2 sisters, Marcia Lora and Nancy and husband Ruben De La Rosa; 2 brothers, Virgilio and wife Yudelka De la Cruz, Thomas and wife Evelyn De La Cruz. Being the person whom she was, she cared for her adoring nieces and nephews as her own; Judira, Adalberto, Juan Carlos, Ana Luisa, Angelica, John, Emily, Angelie, Anthony and Alan.
Belkis was loved by all, she was truly an amazing inspiration. She was everything anyone could ever aspire to be. Belkis was a great daughter, wife, mother, friend and teacher. She will truly be missed. We love you, and you will be always and forever in our hearts.
A visitation for Belkis will be held Friday, December 13, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Marine Park Funeral Home Inc., 3024 Quentin Rd., Brooklyn, NY 11234. A funeral mass will occur Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Blessed Sacrament Church, 198 Euclid Ave., Brooklyn, NY 11208. A committal service will occur Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 11:30 AM at St. John Cemetery, 80-01 Metropolitan Ave, Middle Village, NY.
