My late wife Nina and I have known Arleen for some fifty years through her sister-in-law Mary, who worked with Nina and has been our friend these many years. We have shared many happy times with Arleen and her family at birthdays, weddings, baptisms, confirmations and other celebrations over the years, and will miss her now that she is gone from us. We are thankful for her memory, and wish God's blessings on her family in the days and years to come.

To an amazingly beautiful woman inside and out. I was always proud to call you my Aunt. You have touched the lives of so many and knew how to live life to its fullest. You lit up any room you entered. I'll always have fond memories of vacations, block parties and time we spent as a family. Although it now seems dark to my eyes, I believe Heaven has gotten a whole lot brighter. I find comfort knowing you are no longer in pain and are being reunited with your baby Kathleen, your brothers and all who have passed before you. I'm happy you found your peace. My mom is heart-broken so please watch over her. Your niece, Kathi

My Dear Aunt Arleen,
When I was a young boy, you were my young, hip, aunt. You were beautiful, and loving and full of life. You worked at Union Carbide in the big city. I didn’t know what that was, but I was impressed. I remember hearing about your ski trips with your friends. And I remember going to Breezy Point. At my age, it seemed like an exotic place. Mostly, I remember you being funny and sweet, with that great smile. You raised a wonderful family, and were a force for good, touching the lives of so many people and making them better. And that’s why God gave you to us. I’ll miss you terribly, my beloved aunt. Rest In Peace.
Love,
Michael Segriff

Arlene was a person who welcomed all, loved to laugh and was willing to try anything. She shared her faith and joy with the children of Immaculate Heart of Mary for many years as a catechist and Vacation Bible School volunteer. I am so grateful for having known her. Condolences to Bob and the entire family.
Love,
S. Mary Ann Ambrose, CSJ

My dear sweet Aunt Arleen. Your family has suffered a great loss. We will forever remember your infectious laugh and beautiful smile. This picture says it all - you embraced life with open arms. You've given us happy memories to last our lifetimes. You and I shared a love for knitting and reading. I remember a word you often said during our conversations "Terrific!" and to this day, when I close my eyes I can still hear you. May you rest in peace among family and friends in Heaven. Always in our hearts - Barbara (Segriff) and David Enders

Losing you has broken my heart. You were a beautiful woman inside and out. Not only were you a wonderful sister, as we grew older we became best friends and confidantes; sharing secrets along with our families happy and sad times. Your smile was infectious and always there to light up a room, which I will miss. As you leave this world you will be with your daughter, Kathleen in the next. We will love and miss you forever.
So until we meet again...
Your sister, Kathleen and brother-in-law, George

Since our first meeting in 1960 as 2 young women working at Union Carbide Corporation we have been a part of each other’s lives. I have been proud to call this wonderful caring woman my friend/sister for all these years. We have experienced the high points of life – marriage, births of our children and all the happy occasions one has in life as well as life’s losses and heartache. Our families have become one over all these years. My life has been forever touched by this beautiful, vivacious woman. My heart is broken and I will miss her. Rest in peace dear friend. Love and sympathy to you Bob, Robert, John and Patricia and the wonderful grandchildren she was blessed to have.

Cousin Arlene always had a beautiful smile and a laugh! She was such a loving person! She would visit my family on East 32nd Street in Flatbush with Bob and her kids on occasional Sundays. She loved Grandma Cunningham, Aunt Loretta, her cousin, Betty, and our whole crazy family. God bless her and her family. May she rest with the angels and may God hold her in a warm embrace.

I am saddened to hear of Aunt Arleen's passing. My happiest memory is when I was a little fellow, my sister (Teresa) and I visited aunt Arleen and uncle Bob at their home. We played in there back yard had snacks and we did not want to leave. They had a humble home. I also remember uncle Bob being as BIG as a bear to back then, a humble bear.
What a wonderful woman she is and will be missed by all. My sister Teresa and I wish to express our heartfelt sympathy and the hope that kind words of your family and friends will make this difficult time a bit easier to bear.
Most Sincerely,
William (Cunningham) and Teresa (Cunningham) Conroy

We've lost a loving, beautiful, stylish, spunky soul. Our hearts are heavy and hurting. I grew up on the block in Brooklyn where the Duffy and Stapleton families were (and still are) more than neighbors. We're family. Bound and nurtured by the mutual love and admiration of Arleen and my mother Irene, we became an extended loving family. Arleen and Bob raised wonderful children surrounded by the love they all shared. We were blessed to have had Arleen in our lives. Her intelligent, quick wit and infectious laugh were just a small part of Arleen's overall attraction. A lovingly beautiful woman inside and out who will never be forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers are with Bob, Robert, John, Patricia and Mark along with Eddie, Abigail and Fiona during the very difficult time. Arleen was loved by many and will forever hold a very special place in my heart and I'm sure all of my siblings feel the same. God Bless Arleen Stapleton and her family.

Arlene always had an infectious smile and a kind word. On my 10th birthday, way back in 1962, Cousin Arlene brought me a colorful cake with balloons on it. Unfortunately this 10 year old had the measles and was not in the mood to appreciate her kind gesture. I do now, Arlene, and I appreciate all the kindnesses you gave others throughout your life. You are loved and missed, sweet cousin. xx Maureen McDonough Sheehy
