Obituary of Frances Savage
Frances Jean Savage passed from us and moved onto her Eternal rest on June 13th, 2020. Her life will be remembered with all our love. Frances lived her entire life in Brooklyn, attending PS139 on Cortelyou Rd., Erasmus High School and Brooklyn College. After a short career in banking she devoted the rest of her life to marriage, and family. The Savage family made a home in Ditmas Park area since 1956. Frances was active in her Catholic faith and worked many bazaars for St. Brendan's. She slowed her many social activities in later years, but continued to be our rock until age 92. After some illness, she was cared for in her home by her youngest daughter and grandsons Gerard and Stephen.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents Angela Callaci, and Zizi Carl, her husband of 60 years Carey Savage, and beloved daughter Marianne Savage. She leaves behind daughter Jeanne Savage Smith and husband Jeffrey Smith, son Michael and wife Elizabeth Young Savage, son Thomas and wife Nahir Emmanuelli Savage, daughter Carol Savage Donohue and Neil Donohue. Grandchildren reside across the U.S.: Gerard and Stephen live in Brooklyn, James and Owen in Anchorage, Phillip, Alexandra and John in Denver. Mom (Nanny) will be very missed for her sense of humor, her love for cooking and eating Sicilian food, her energetic, giving spirit, and towering strength in times of trouble and times of joy.
