Even though our hearts are breaking, I choose to remember the good times and memories. Like when you gave me my first cheese and jelly sandwich about 50 years ago in that tiny country kitchen in New Hampshire. The Monday night card games with my Mom, Eleanor and Ann (I think you were there, I couldn't see any faces in that cigarette smoke haze). Our Staten Island dinners when we would share a meal and a few laughs (Kathy always stressed on what to make). But what I will always remember and never forget was how you and Uncle Joey tried to fill the void when both my parents passed 7 weeks apart in 1992. You became our second mother and my 3 girls second grandmother. You never missed a birthday, graduation, sweet sixteen, engagement party or wedding. For me personally, it was the most selfless, caring and loving act you could have made. I will miss you more each day. LOVE YOU! Tommy

She was one of the most kindest, sweetest women I had the pleasure of growing up around. When I think of the neighborhood I grew up in, I remember Rel. She always had a smile on her face. RIP beautiful lady. My condolences to Cathy and the family.

A beautiful woman, a friend to all. I will always treasure our talks. When Rel spoke to you, you were the most important person in the room. She had a way of spreading her pure love to so many people. I feel blessed to have known her. God bless her soul. My condolences to all her beautiful family.

What a great lady Rel was! So loving to everyone she met. My 2nd pregnancy I was told I was having a girl, and I delivered a baby boy! Rel sent me blue flowers with a card saying "Gotcha" I still have that card, its a great memory. My Mom & her had a very special friendship, and I hope they are reunited in heaven finally catching up on all the years without each other.
RIP Rel!

My first memory of my dear sister, Caroline was of her with her foot (I don’t remember which foot) being in a cast. She was run over by a car while she was tying her shoe at the curb on a street in Brooklyn. This was probably at the beginning of WWII. She was not able to participate in any of the street games of that era. She just sat there (probably at the curb) and smiled. The last time I spoke with my sister was earlier this year at her residence in Florida. As in my first memory, she was not able to participate in any of the activities outside her residence. But she was smiling because she was happy to see me and my wife, Jo. In between all those years, I remember “Rel,” as being a kind, caring, giving, person. She had a loving relationship with all her brothers and their families. If you happened to be on Quentin Road around dinner time there was always an extra plate for your enjoyment. Her every Thursday veal cutlet dinner and Friday Linguini and clam sauce are memories I will treasure forever. There was a rumor in her Marine Park neighborhood, that if Rel knew your first name, you were in line for a Christmas gift. Rel’s Christmas shopping began on December 26 and ended on December 24. My many, many memories of my sister are buried deep in my soul. I pray that she rests in peace, she deserves it.
