My grandfather taught me many lessons throughout my life that I will cherish...one that sticks out above all after his passing is he always said “in life there are Givers and Takers...when someone shows you they are a Taker, trust that they will never change their ways...no matter who they are.”

I realize now how lucky I was to have my father in my life until his passing at 89. Dad was a good father. He was a protector, provider and teacher .. he loved telling his life stories and reliving his adventures with us and his grandchildren. He felt he had to be productive and contribute in order to feel worthy of another day. We know how much you missed mom and all your family and friends so there were good days and bad but you always bounced back with your “not a quitter” strength. Dad I will miss you each and every day for the rest of my life. Thank you for it all dad.. especially the DEER. I know you are at peace and with Mom. I look forward to hearing those stories again some day. For now I just keep expecting the phone to ring ..
Love always Linda

Mr Vorbach was a kind and gentle soul. Even though he was surrounded by daughters, he always welcomed me in his home, what's one more! He was as tough as they come but not afraid to show his gentle caring side. I want to share a memory that I still think of often and always makes me smile. Patty and I were high school friends. Mr and Mrs Vorbach were going away and leaving Patty home alone. He took the time to write what had to be 50 yellow post it notes with instructions and satey concerns and posted them all around the house! At the time we found it hysterical when we came home from a night out, and read the notes. "As not to cause fire"....I remember us dropping to the floor with laughter. As the years passed I often think about what an amazing man took the time to make sure his family ( and friends) were safe while he was away! Who does that? A loving and caring protector, that's who. I didn't get it until I became a parent myself. He was one of the best of them.He will be watching over his girls and their families for ever. May he rest in peace.
In loving memory,
Margaret Iacovano

Awwwh. Thank you Margaret. This was a touching tribute and made me laugh. If I remember right while they were away Patty actually left the flame on a Christmas decoration and it got damaged in the fire. I took the blame for my little sister who ignored those notes :)

Will never be far from my heart, my Godfather, Uncle Charlie, we had fantastic times together over the years, especially all our Lake Taghkanic adventures, we even almost shared a Birthday, me the 16th, you the 17th of January. My boys loved fishing with you, and hearing stories around a campfire. You were a Character to say the least, but a good, happy, funny and loving one. We will Never forget you, you’ll be in our hearts Forever. You’re in the best company now with my favorite Aunt Joan, and sisters Marion & Phyllis, Brother Buddy, and our course you beautiful Mother, Elizabeth
Forever in my Heart. Semper Fi Marine, Oooh Rah

My first hunting trip with Uncle Charlie was very memorable. We didn't shoot anything but had plenty of memories of the accident while en route to the cabin. The early morning spiked coffee kept us warm in the snowy mountains. Such fun.
