I met Barbara back in the 80's through my older sister Denise. They worked together at Bear Stearns in New York City. Denise and Barbara became friends and remained friends up until her recent passing. Over the years Barbara spent many Christmases with our family along with other celebrations. Whenever barbara came we all looked forward to eating her delicious brownies and cheese cake. I know I would sneak one or two brownies hours before dessert was put on the table. Once put out they did not last long!!
Rest In Peace Barbara

I was very sad to learn of Barbara's passing. We knew each other since grammar school and then into St. Brendan's. Barbara was always a kind and friendly girl. We reconnected on Face Book and shared a few of our childhood memories, enjoyed swapping pictures of our dogs and just remembering our high school days. Our last meeting was at our high school reunion where we all gathered together, and for one more night we were silly school girls again. May God welcome Barbara with open arms and grant her peace. She left her friends and family too soon, but heaven gained a magnificent angel! - Love, Cathy Pergola DiBenedetto

There aren't enough words to describe how much Barbara impacted my Life. I've known the Family for years and we both grew up on Coleman Street. I went to STA with Pat. It would be planning Pat's 50th Bday surprise party that I would immediately begin a Special Friendship with Barbara. I've never had someone who came into my life in such a short time and become One of my Dearest Friends. The Love, Kindness, and Compassion Barbara showed towards Us, Is very much-needed in the world today. We will miss You terribly. Sweet Dreams my Friend. Till we meet Again, Watch Over Us. Give my Nephew William a hug for me and my Dad too.
God's Speed Home Barbara.

Barbara was an integral part of my life, and my family’s life, since meeting her in 1987. Her advice helped me get started in my career, and I met my husband as a result of working for her. Outside of work, we became fast friends, and I remember many long talks, fun times, and memorable trips. She was Godmother to one of my children, and a staple at many family gatherings, especially Christmas Eve, when she always came laden with thoughtful gifts, as well as homemade brownies and cheesecake. She was always very giving of herself, making sure I had my favorite Brown Derby birthday cake (often driving out of her way to get it) and flowers for Mother’s Day. She even came one Christmas with a small tree because I joked that I may be too busy to put up my regular one. She wanted to make sure my kids had a tree that year; it has been put up every year since. Whether it was giving advice, providing an ear to listen to, or sending a surprise delivery, Barbara was one of the most thoughtful and selfless people I ever met. My life was better for knowing Barbara, and Christmas Eve will not be the same without her. Rest in peace, my dear friend, you will be deeply missed.

I am shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of my sweet friend Barbara. I liked Barbara the moment I met her, and we became friends right away. We didn't talk often enough over the years, but when we talked or got together, it was as if no time at all had passed. My last in-person visit was in Washington, DC where we toured the city, ate great food, and talked for hours. The world is a better place because Barbara was in it (though for too short a time). Rest in peace dear friend. You'll live in my heart forever.
