I knew John for many years as a member of the Long Island horse community. We rode together at Old Mill Stables in Jericho and we all admired his riding and training skills with Star his beautiful Arabian. He was a kind and generous man. Many years ago my Mom told me she would love to see Lena Horn's one woman show on Broadway, I asked John if he could help, days later he handed my 2 tickets, second row, center. My Mom was beyond thrilled. Thank you John, you are missed.

I worked with John for many years as the AFM’s Director of Tours and came to regard him as a colleague but importantly as a friend. Broadway has lost a “class act”. My deepest sympathies to Kupi and John’s family.

Though I met John in 1982 when I started subbing on Broadway shows, it was working with him in more recent years that I got to know him as the kind, funny and elegant man that he was. He was a great storyteller and he would entertain us with his tales of his years in the music business as a guitarist. His riding adventures were legendary too. He came to work every day immaculately dressed and I don't think we ever saw the same suit twice! John was one of a kind and I feel lucky to have known him. He will be greatly missed. My heartfelt condolences to his family.

John,
It was an honor to work for you and a bigger honor being your friend for the past 47 years.
You will be missed and i will always cherish our phone calls.
You brought so much class to the music industry and to this world.
Rest in peace my friend.
