Mama Ganci! You were so much a part of my childhood memories. I cherish those moments growing up with Elise. I remember your house on Fillmore Avenue always booming with life and laughter. There were always friends and family around you. I remember Papa Ganci with his welcoming smile and warm affection. It was my home away from home and I always felt welcome.
I have so many fond memories of Grandma's cooking and Aunt Connie's beautiful singing voice. I remember the day that Uncle George introduced me to my first authentic cup of Italian coffee with a splash of anisette. You were always knitting some beautiful creation or showing off your latest ceramic piece of art. I'm lucky enough to have some of your creations! I will cherish those moments and always remember the love you gave.
I'm so happy to have spent time with you and Elise recently when we visited you at your home in long island. Our visits were always too brief but it warmed my heart to see you and spend time with you. You will be missed and will always have a special place in my heart. I love you Mama Ganci. Give my love to your beloveds in heaven. Watch over us.
Your daughter from another mother

One of my favorite Aunt’s of which I probably spent the most time with as a child and adult. “There’s nothing more powerful than a determined woman”, I would like to add. Hospitable and caring, for people and animals. From a generation that is too quickly disappearing with genuine values and principles not commonly found today. From her came a family that if everyone were like, it would be a near perfect world. Rest easy Aunt Mary and hope to see you soon. John 5:28,29
