Obituary of Diana G. Jeffrey

Diana Gloria Marilynn Jeffrey

September 22, 1953 - December 28, 2021

Diana is finally at rest, on 12/28/21 she was reunited with her mom, Ruth Dells in heaven. Diana was born and raised in Biabou, St. Vincent with her sister Hazel and two brothers Lesley and Junior. Known by family as “Gloria”. She emigrated to the United States in 1984. While being a beloved stay at home mom and raising three children (Jillian, JaimeJosann, and Jerriann), Diana went to night school in New York City to get her Bachelors Degree and went on to get her Masters Degree in Social Work from Adelphi University.

Diana worked as a social worker in Brooklyn, NY. She focused on foster care children of the abused and neglected. Before getting sick and being diagnosed with cervical cancer, Diana volunteered for hospice. Constantly always putting the needs of others first before hers.

Diana has 5 grandchildren, (Shanice, Joshua, Emily, Justin and Madison). She was the most special grandma, raising most of them as her own.

Diana was also a devoted Christian and gave her life to the Lord; she was a faithful member of the Church of God of Prophecy.

To anyone she encountered, Diana was known for her kind generosity, warm demeanor and smile.

Heaven truly received an angel. Anyone that knew Diana, feels the hole in their heart.

A service to remember Diana will be held on January 3rd at Marine Park Funeral Home in Brooklyn, NY from 10 am - 12pm. Committal to follow at Greenwood cemetery.  A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date in the summer of 2022.

Please consider a donation in Diana’s name to the “African American Alzheimer's and Wellness Association” or a charity of your choice. But most all, she would want us to honor her by being warm and kind to everyone as she was to everyone she encountered.

Don't grieve for me, from pain I'm free
I'm following the path God has laid, you see.
I took his hand when I heard his call
I turned around and left it all.
I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found the peace on a sunny day.
If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joys.
A family shared, a laugh, a kiss
Oh yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I've savored much,
Good family, good times, a loved one's touch.
Perhaps my time seem all too brief
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts, and peace to thee.
God wanted me now; From pain I'm free.
