Obituary of Kyriacos Pistola
Kyriacos Pistola, age 90, of Brooklyn, NY, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2022.
Kyriacos was born April 3, 1932 in Cyprus. In the sixth grade, Kyriacos had to quit school to work on his family's farm, to help feed his family. At the age of 16 and alone, Kyriacos left Cyprus and ventured to America for a better life, with less than $100. Knowing no English, he took a job as a dishwasher and worked his way up, while sharing his first apatment with a few friends.
Kyriacos worked hard to become a successful owner of a coffee shop in Forest Hills for many years until he retired.
He educated himself, was a humble man and the kindest, most giving person. He was never judgemental and always welcoming.
Kyriacos is the son of the late Antonios and the late Helen Pistola.
He was married to Anna Rotondo Pistola. She departed this life in July 1989.
Kyriacos is survived by his beloved Bessie Pexos.
Kyriacos leaves behind his children Theresa Isser, Tony Pistola (Joan,) and Joey Pistola.
Kyriacos, aka Papou, was a grandfather to 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
He will be missed by his grandchildren Danny Isser, Anny Isser (Paul DiGeralmo,) Danielle Pistola-Sidiropoulos (Dimitri Sidiropoulos,) DeAnna Pistola-Hills (Ryan Hills) and Anthony Pistola
Forever loved by his great grandchildren Gio and Daniella; Nicholas Anthony; Luca Dominick and Elliana Rose; Peyton Ryan.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, April 19 from 2:00 – 5:00 PM and 7:00 – 9:00 PM at Marine Park Funeral Home, Inc., 3024 Quentin Road, Brooklyn, NY.
Religious services will be held on Wednesday, April 20 at 10:00 AM at Three Hierarchs Greek Orthodox Church, 1724 Avenue P, Brooklyn, NY.
Burial to immediately follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island.
