Obituary of Margaret Juman Rampersad

Margaret Maria Juman Rampersad of Brooklyn, New York passed away on May 6th, 2022, in her beloved country of Trinidad and Tobago. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 27th from 4 PM-9 PM (Father Dwayne will arrive at 7:00 PM.) at Marine Park Funeral Home at 3024 Quentin Road, Brooklyn, New York 11234. The funeral service will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Church on Saturday, May 28th at 9:00 AM with Father Dwayne Davis of St. Thomas officiating. The Mass will be live-streamed can be watched by clicking on the following link: St. Thomas Aquinas RCC Live-stream. Burial will follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery 3260 Tilden Avenue Brooklyn, New York 11203.

Margaret was born in Belmont, Port of Spain, Trinidad, to Radica Rampatie and Gunput Juman on May 15th, 1943. She went to school at Providence Girls Catholic High School. She went on to earn a degree in nursing. She worked as a registered nurse for St. Anne’s Hospital in Trinidad for thirty years. Margaret enjoyed church, spending time with family and friends, singing, dancing, and walking. She received outstanding awards for the most caring nurse and for academic excellence at her graduation from nursing school. Margaret was involved in and devoted to the Legion of Mary at St. Thomas Aquinas for twenty years. She was totally devoted to her family, community and to her church. Margaret brought communion to the sick and the shut in and visited homes encouraging everyone in the community to attend church.

Margaret is survived by her daughter Daveca and her son Wayde, grandchildren: Nirvana, Kyle, Sonja- Marie, Andrew, Amy, Matthew, Isa Emmanuel, Anisa, Joshua, Emily, and Austin. Great grandchildren: Logan, Annabeth, Jahzarra, Elisa Marie, Elayna, Sahmayya, Mason, Maddison, and Thomas. Sister: Jenny, Brothers: John and Anthony. Nieces: Angel, Sandy, Indra, Vashti, Mandy, Napha, Audra, Vanessa and many others. Nephews: Andy, Andre, Lenin, Jason, Mitra, Jeffery, James, Joseph, Justin and many others. Daughters in law: Anne Marie and Francirith. Beloved sister-in-law: Lynette and devoted cousin Angie.

Now she is proceeded in death by her beloved son Kevin and her beloved grandson Brian. Sisters: Monica, Louise, and Theresa. Brothers: James, Mustapha, Desmond and Martin  

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all her church brothers and sisters, Father Dwayne, Father Kieran, Father Josh, Father Joey, Gerard, Manoune, Sister Ethel, sisters and brothers of the Lord’s Flock, Felicia, Claudie, Marie Andre, Lena, Norma, Joe and everyone who enriched her life and supported the family at this time.
