My heart goes out to all of the family. Your never prepared for a loved one to go. Donna did it her way all the way to the end. She tried everything and but never gave up or let her get her down. She filled her wish list no matter how sick she was. She never felt sorry for herself. She definitely will be missed and made many many memories for all the family to remember with her. From her 50 in Vegas with all the NY family, CA family and friends and us in out here was a big one. So so many memories. We love you and your all in our prayers. All Be strong which is easier said. Xoxox I miss my mom so much. Never will be the same. Donna is definitely w her and in your dads arms no more pain, we have to believe like you said she’s with so many now!!! love love you Donna. Hugs to all the family. Love Rose Ann, Armando and our family.

Donna exuded a tough strong brave exterior that bled through to her core, but she was also tender, loving, compassionate, loyal and funny as heck. She called me often, to see how I was doing to tell me how I inspired her and brought her joy through my words of prayer that I sometimes shared outwardly for our family. She called to check in when I should have called to check on her, but I can say, I’m certainly glad that I always picked up! She would say, RandiAnn, you got a minute sweetie? I would tell her sure, I’m at work but I got a minute!… and then she would proceed to have a 45 minute chat with me. I will always pictire her smile her face her light her perseverance, her fight for everything and everyone including herself!!!! I will miss you cousin, and I pray you found heaven and landed in the middle of a beautiful never ending sunset. I will always share your memory with my daughter so she can remember that she comes from a family of strong women, fighters, leaders, and lovers.

My Dear Cousin. We fought like sister but we always knew who to turn to when no one was there for a Trip or just for long talks. Or some time long trips with long talk or not talking. Vegas 3 times, Palm Spring, The Country in New York, San Diego, Murrieta and Mexico Its funny because I remember more and can laugh at the ones you really drove me crazy. Who takes a 9 hour trip to Vegas and stops every 15 mins.for you to get picture of rock, the view and trees. We get there and your legs were swollen because of sitting on a plane and long trip to Vegas. I need a drink at that time but you didn’t want me to leave the room while you sleep ( but of course I did) and we left the next morning. Or the time we left from Las Vegas for your 50th birthday to Palm Springs and so mad at me because my air condition broke down in 110 plus temperature. But it was you that I learn to take my time and enjoy the views. No matter you felt you smile when you seen a beautiful sunset, flowers, tree just the environment. Donna don’t get mad when we’re all laughing about our trips; you only made memories that we cannot ever forget. You would of been great teaching in the White House; Trump would of had to listen to you. I Love you my dear powerful cousin Donna. Enjoy Heaven snd give All our family my Love. XO

So so sorry for the loss of Donna. We had special moments when we vacationed together in Vegas and Arizona. She called me when she heard we had the same cancer and would follow up with me to see how I was doing. She wanted to hear all about my experience and what meds I was taking. Then we ended up at MSK at the same time and visited together. Another time I was at MSK for chemo and her and Alice were there, we took pictures. I’m so saddened.

I’m sorry to find out the news on Donna, We knew each other way back in Brooklyn growing up on Wilson St. I also live in Fl and one county away and also reconnecting three years ago. So sorry that we never got to meet up with Covid and all that took place delayed our meeting up. So sorry once again, May she RIP..

Donna & I met at Memorial Sloan Kettering during our initial surgeries - we were roommates by chance, but fast friends. She was an amazing human being - and a bright light. We laughed, cried and told many stories - she made me feel like we knew each other forever! With social media, I was blessed to stay in touch with her throughout the last few years. Lunch while she passed through the Hudson Valley on her way to The Catskills and me visiting her in Staten Island. My sincerest condolences to her Mom & family - I was blessed having Donna in my life. May she rest easy. God bless, Nance Hastings

Donna, I remember the first day we met I was only 14 years old, and from that day you loved me as I was your own niece. Thank you for always being there for me, listening to my teenage struggles and always encouraging me to do better. Dealing with cheerleaders wasn’t easy, but you always made the best of it and we will always cherish those special moments. Love you forever!
To my Hernandez family Praying that God's love enfolds you and comforts you through the pain. ... Love you all!

It was an honor to get to know Donna as my neighbor in New Port Richey, FL. She was a light in her painful world always wanting to get "the girls together" in her beautiful back yard. Her Bella was certainly her love and I spent many hours with her when Donna was away. I send my deepest sympathy to the family and rest assured she will never be forgotten,

A few years ago Donna and I had an appt in the city. Afterwards we went for margaritas. Listening to her talk about everything that was going on was incredibly impressive to me. What a sharp memory she had..she was multitasking which I think is a Hernandez trait but never left our conversation. Enjoy your never ending glass of margaritas.
My condolences to her family.

To the Hernandez Family,
I would like to extend my sincere condolences on the passing of such a beautiful soul. I had the pleasure of meeting Donna during my time at John Dewey HS being introduced to her by her older sister Margie. The laughter we shared there remains in my heart.
What I most remember about Donna was her loving heart. To have attended John Dewey with all three Hernandez sisters is my blessing and I thank you each for sharing Donna with me. My prayers to you all during this difficult time. Know that there are so many Deweyites sending you love. May Donna rest in the arms of the Lord.
