Obituary of Richard Cenci

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Richard Cenci, 89, on Tuesday, July 25, 2023.

Richard was born in Brooklyn to Gene and Isabella Cenci. He served honorably in the United States Army from 1953-1956 After leaving the Army, Richard worked as a Steamfitter for most of his career, working on many of the new building projects in NYC during the 1970’s and 1980’s.

Richard was a resident of Marine Park, Brooklyn for over 50 years where he was surrounded by great neighbors and loving and compassionate friends (“the Dunkin Donuts Crew”). He had a passion for horse racing and loved to spend the day at the track with his uncle and his friends. He was also a dedicated baseball fan to the NY Mets.
 

Richard was pre-deceased by his beloved wife Catherine and is survived by his daughter Lori Cenci and husband Anthony Rubino; daughter Diane Cenci and husband John Hillhouse; and his son Richard. He was a beloved Pop-Pop to his four grandchildren Sarah, Emma, Will and James.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at 10:00 am at St Columba Church, 2245 Kimball Street. Burial to follow at St. Charles Cemetery, 2015 Wellwood Ave., Farmingdale, NY.
