Obituary of Jack Chin
Jack Chin, age 89, of Brooklyn passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023. Jack was born October 12, 1933 in Guangzhou, China. He is the son of the late George and the late Joan (Yuen) Chin.
Jack earned a B.S. degree from NYU in 1955. For most of his career, he worked in men's retail for M.L. Rothschild at TSS. Jack and his family were members of Homecrest Presbyterian Church for over 50 years, and he served as Treasurer for the church for many decades. Jack was proud to serve his country in the Army. He also enjoyed family time, tennis, table tennis, Broadway shows, and following professional sports.
Jack is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, May, of Brooklyn. He is the beloved father of daughter Carlene and her husband David, and their children, Allison, Claudia, and Samantha; son Carlton and his wife Rose, and their child, Julia; and daughter Cara. Jack is predeceased by his son, Curtis, who is survived by his wife Grace and their child Nathanial.
Reposing on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 from 2:00 - 7:00 PM at Marine Park Funeral Home, 3024 Quentin Road, Brooklyn.
Funeral Service on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at 9:00 AM at Marine Park Funeral Home, 3024 Quentin Road, Brooklyn.
Procession will form and depart the funeral home by 10:15 AM to the final resting place.
Burial at Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, New York.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Jack Chin to either: the American Heart Association or Homecrest Presbyterian Church (1413 Avenue T, Brooklyn, NY 11229).
