Obituary of Jessica Joanis

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jessica Minella Joanis, who departed from this world on February 29, 2024 at the age of 32. Jessica was born on Sunday, March 10, 1991, to her loving parents Ronald and Minerva Joanis.

Jessica's journey through life was marked by resilience and strength. Despite battling with Autoimmune Hepatitis since childhood, a condition where her immune system relentlessly attacked her liver, Jessica faced each day with courage and grace. Sadly, due to complicated factors, she was unable to undergo the liver transplant that could have prolonged her life.

Throughout her life, Jessica touched the hearts of those around her with her kindness, creativity, and selflessness. She was a devoted daughter, sister, friend, and above all, a loving mother to her two cherished sons, Jace Malachi Joanis and Jaxon Mathias Joanis. Her dedication to her children was unwavering, ensuring they were always well-cared-for, experiencing new adventures, and excelling in their studies.

Jessica possessed a remarkable talent for event planning and decorating, infusing every celebration with her unique creativity and attention to detail. Despite her illness, she continued to bake specialty cakes, craft party favors, and meticulously plan decorations for numerous gatherings, always placing the happiness of others above her own.

She was a beacon of positivity, often concealing her pain behind a radiant smile to shield her loved ones from worry. Her love for dance and her passion for all things Disney brought joy to those around her, and her laughter was infectious.

Jessica leaves behind a legacy of strength, love, and perseverance that will forever inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed by her parents, Ronald and Minerva Joanis. Loving mother of Jace Malachi Joanis and Jaxon Mathias Joanis. Beloved sister of Marie Helene Joanis, Ronald Joanis Jr., Ron Anthony Joanis, Edward Roniel Joanis, Jean Philippe Duchatellier and sister-in-law of Candice Clarke, Roxanne Joanis and Veronica Trotman. Cherished granddaughter of Helene Jameau, God daughter of Deborah Dipenti and God mother of Kaylee Bynoe. Dear niece of Martine Carmelia Walker Bello, Marie Lourdes Calixte,  Anne Marie Dipenti and Joan Sawyers. Loving aunt of Christian Clavier, Clarissa Clavier, Neola Amari Joanis, Soumia Roxanne Joanis, Donovan Kobe Joanis, Ezrael Joanis. Treasured cousin of Katoucha Jean, Nat-Aji Bello, Jose Sylvester Bello, Yeidi Kristelle Bello and Kathleel Zamor. She also leaves behind a host of extended family members and friends. Jessica's spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her.

Reposing on Monday, March 11 from 4:00 - 9:00 PM at Marine Park Funeral Home, 3024 Quentin Road, Brooklyn. A funeral service to honor and celebrate Jessica's life will be held at 7:00 PM .

The burial will be held on Tuesday, March 12th. Procession to form and depart the funeral home at 10:00 AM to Canarsie Cemetery, Brooklyn, New York.

Jessica Minella Joanis will be remembered fondly and cherished eternally. May her soul rest in peace.
