With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Mark M. Hanna. Mark's journey began in Brooklyn, New York on November 24, 1945, where he was born to Mark and Dorothy Hanna. Mark served his country with honor and distinction as a Marine from 1964 to 1968, earning accolades including the National Defense Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. His dedication and commitment to service were emblematic of his character throughout his life.

Mark's legacy lives on through his children, Scott Hanna (Jennifer), Amie Hanna (Ryan), Stacey Lakiotes (Nicholas), and Raven Hanna, and his grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Brendan, Abigail, Jack, Chloe, Aiden and Ian.

A man of many words and wisdom, Mark was known for his famous one-liners and quotes that reflected his wit and unique perspective on life. Whether offering advice or sharing a laugh, his presence illuminated the lives of those around him.

Some of Mark’s famous quotes included:

“A bitching Marine is a happy Marine.”

“There is no such thing as a former Marine.”

“Once a Marine, always a Marine.”

“Always keep a smile on your face.”

“Keep it simple, stupid.”

Mark's memory will forever be cherished by his family and friends. Though he may have left this world, his spirit and wisdom will continue to guide us.

As we gather to honor his life, let us remember the love, laughter, and lessons he shared.

This, I will remember when the rest of life is through:

The finest thing I’ve ever done is simply loving you.
