Obituary of Crisologo L. Padilla
It is with great sadness that the Padilla family announces the passing of their patriarch, Crisologo L. Padilla, M.D., age 89, who entered into eternal rest on Friday, December 6, 2024.
Crisologo L. Padilla was born on November 25, 1935, in the Philippines to the late Miguel and Crisanta (Lontok) Padilla. From a young age, it was evident that he possessed a sharp intellect and a disciplined nature. His love for swimming earned him a scholarship to medical school, a testament to his exceptional abilities and dedication.
Cris' life was enriched by the love he shared with his high school sweetheart, whom he met again in college. Their rekindled romance blossomed into a beautiful marriage that spanned 53 wonderful years. Together, they embarked on a journey that eventually led them to the United States, where Cris pursued a successful career in medicine. He dedicated himself to his patients, first at NYCH New York Community Hospital and later at his own medical office on Ocean Avenue in Brooklyn, established in the early 1970s.
Dr. Padilla was a simple man who found joy in the little things. He loved movies and was an avid gardener, taking great pride in maintaining a meticulously beautiful garden. His green thumb was evident in the lush, aesthetically pleasing presence of his plants.
He had a special connection to the water, which extended beyond his swimming scholarship. In the early 1990s, Cris acquired a summer home in Breezy Point, where he relished the tranquility and beauty of the ocean. This cherished retreat became a haven for him and his family, a place where he could swim and enjoy the beach.
Dr. Padilla's legacy is one of love, dedication, and simplicity. He leaves behind a family who adored him and countless patients who benefited from his expertise and care. His memory will forever be a source of inspiration and warmth for all who knew him.
Devoted husband of the late Bernarda A. Padilla. Loving father of Dr. Michael R. Padilla (Richelle), Christopher J. Padilla, Cynthia N. Padilla (Peter Antioco) and the late Dennis J. Padilla. Beloved grandfather of Joshua, Janine, Cienna and Cynthia.
Forever In Our Hearts
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
Reposing on Friday, December 13 from 3:00 - 8:00 PM at Marine Park Funeral Home, 3024 Quentin Road, Brooklyn.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 14 at Our Lady Help of Christians R.C. Church, 1315 East 28th Street, Brooklyn.
