Obituary of Bruce Joseph Henry
Bruce Henry died at the age of 71 after battling with Leukemia and Parkinson's. Bruce was the former Executive Director of Covenant House New York. He founded the Rights of Passage Program and was a vital member of the Covenant House International Community. He retired in 2013 after marking 50 years of service to the children and families of New York City. He served for the United States Army Intelligence Division in Vietnam as an interpreter. Bruce received his BA (St Francis College) MPA (LIU) and JD (Brooklyn Law). Bruce was an avid marathoner, sports enthusiast and ultimate competitor. He is survived by the love of his life Patricia E. Henry, his son Sean and daughter in law Joan Marie, his daughter Katie and son in law Corey, and his grandchildren Maxwell, Sydney, Delila, Simone and Sanai. Reposing Thursday December 28, 2017 at MARINE PARK FUNERAL HOME 3024 Quentin Road, Brooklyn from 2 – 5 and 7 – 9:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Help of Christians on Friday December 29, 2017 at 9:30 AM. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Henry Family Veteran Scholarship Fund at St. Francis College 180 Remsen Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201.
