Angeline A. Moscatt
November 9, 1926 – February 21, 2018
Angeline entered into eternal life on Wednesday February 21, 2018.
She was the beloved daughter of Sicilian-born parents,
Joseph and Giovanna Moscatt,
sister to Salvatore A. Moscatt ( Mary, both deceased) and to
Paul Napoleon Moscatt (Carlene) of Baltimore.
She was a dear aunt and great-aunt to her nieces and nephews.
Angeline’s career as a Children’s Librarian spanned 40 years from 1957 to 1997. She began working in various NYC branch libraries and became supervising librarian and Head of the Central Children’s Room that moved to the Donnell Library Center. She was knowledgeable and deeply interested in children and children’s literature, enjoying every aspect of her job and meeting the young public. She organized exhibits of original illustrations from children’s books and various items that were connected to some of the stories. One of the most famous and popular exhibits was the original Winnie-the-Pooh bear and related material that was donated to the Central Children’s Room. She enjoyed giving book talks, story hours, setting up lecture programs, and attending conferences about children’s literature.
