Obituary of Elena Foronda
Elena A. Foronda was born on March 18,1945 in the Philippines. One of seven children. She graduated with a degree in education.
She was lovingly known as Nea to her family and friends.
Loving Wife,Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Friend. She is survived by her husband Joe (Popoy), Son, J.J., and Daughter, Jona, Daughter-in-law, Lala, Son-in-law, Alex and grandchildren, Jolan, Jeila, Philippe, Riley and Ella.
She spent 40 plus years in Brighton Beach in the same building before moving to Marine Park.
She and Popoy spent their winters, during their retirement years, in the Philippines to be spend time with her family who remained in the Philippines.
Nea and Popoy were blessed to have celebrated their 50th Anniversary last March. They renewed their wedding vows in Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church in the presence of her loved ones.
She will be remembered for cakes, Filipino dishes and delicacies that baked and cooked for family, friends, and neighbors to enjoy for birthdays, special occasions or just because someone came over. No Entemans coffee cake here. (For Sebastian Maniscalco fans).
She was considered a second mother, sister and aunt to many. She was the keeper of family history.
Her nurturing love and support will be missed but never forgotten.
